The Mountain School takes you in the footsteps of the salt routes, to discover the culture of the region but also outdoor activities!
The center offers educational, cultural and sporting services in the heart of the mountain. You will discover salt raid expeditions, but also mountain skiing and snowshoe hikes to share with the family.
Your instructor will take you for a few hours... or a few days in the unforgettable landscapes of the mountain, to discover the cultural richness of the region and its history.
Between conferences, discovery days through Vanoise or Tarentaise, outings with overnight bivouac and itinerant hikes, you will have plenty of sensations and knowledge. Treat yourself to treks and nature outings in Val Thorens, Les Ménuires, and the Belleville Valley... and embark on an enriching experience in the heart of nature.
Summary Skiing
The Mountain School offers you the opportunity to introduce yourself to ski touring in the great outdoors.
Come slide through the Alpine spaces, in the company of the center's instructors. They will offer youintroductory coursesallowing you to start in ski touringon a good basis.
If you do not have your own equipment, the center offers you a pack including skis as well as supervision for 2-hour sessions. This ancestral mode of travel is today within the reach of all adventurers who wish to embark on a unique adventure, while giving primary importance to safety.

Summary Snowshoeing
Ecole de la Montagne Snowshoes takes you on easy snowshoe outings in the heart of the Tarentaise and surrounding areas.
The center invites you to discover the most beautiful sites around Val Thorens on snowshoes. Several snowshoe outings are organized according to the days of the week, according to a program designed for your greatest pleasure:
- Ascent to Lac du Lou at an altitude of 2000 meters
- Discovery of theVallée des Belleville on snowshoes
- Easy to medium peaks and plateaus
- Day escape hikes with picnic! however, they are adapted to your level and can be organized for a half day for a unique adventure in the world of the mountains
- Night snowshoe outings with mulled wine at the end of the hike
Packages of several outings are offered to vary the pleasures on different itineraries. Children's rates are offered for each snowshoe hike so you can share this experience with your family.

The Mountain School offers you itinerant hikes based on the discovery of local culture!
You will have the opportunity to go on the salt routes:
- Salt Route for the Day : discover the most beautiful sites of the region as well as the cultural heritage of the region by treading the salt routes and the history of the Alps from medieval times ! From Tarentaise to Vanoise, via La Thuile or Saint Martin de Belleville!
- Salt route over 2 days with night in bivouac : Queyras massif, Pémont, Val d'Aosta... take the hiking trails and enjoy a night under the stars while discovering the history of the region
- Salt raids over 4 days : several raids will be offered to you, for an extraordinary escape in Belleville, Tarentaise or Vanoise on foot. You will discover the secrets of the salt trade across the States of Savoy from medieval times, the transalpine routes, nights in refuges or lodges...
The mountain school instructors will take you on hikes that will give you energy and well-being, while giving you the benefit of new knowledge about the region.
