Bodegas Zifar

Zifar Wineries, S.L. is a winery acquired by a group of Spanish businessmen in 2005, with the aim of developing a new high-quality wine concept in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin.

The winery is located in the Valladolid town of Peñafiel, close to the historic "Plaza del Coso" and the "Roman Bridge of Valdobar", with views of the "Castillo de Peñafiel", declared a National Historical Monument and current Wine Museum.

The building was built at the beginning of the 20th century, in 1914, following the architectural aesthetics of the time with hardly any ornaments and intertwining stone and Mudejar brick. Completely renovated in 2002, the building consists of three warehouses, one of them underground, and a large interior patio with a garden area where it is intended to carry out wine tourism activities in the near future.

The processing room has the capacity to process 150,000 kg. of grapes and is equipped with the most modern facilities, to obtain wines of the highest quality.

The aging warehouse is designed to house 500 barrels and is located underground to achieve a constant degree of humidity and temperature. The barrel stock is made up mainly of French oak (60%) and American oak (40%) from the most prestigious cooperages on the market.
