Velamania Sailing is a sailing school based in Finale Ligure in Liguria that organizes basic and advanced sailing courses, offshore regattas to participate in as a group or individually , possibility of overnight stay on board.

The sailing school organizes the following courses:

• Basic course: during the course, topics such as knots, twisting the ropes, hoisting and lowering the sails, hauling and letting, gaits, luffing and bearing away, tacking and jibing, setting the sails, techniques of reducing the sails, racy hood and hood will be covered dry weather, techniques for dealing with bad weather, use of the pilot book, safety, man overboard recovery, motor anchoring in the roadstead, navigation lights, priority at sea, estimated navigation. The course will consist of 8 outings of 3 hours each.
• Advanced course: the course program includes the discussion of topics such as the adjustment of sails, rapid maneuvers, use of Gps, techniques to deal with bad weather, safety, MOB function on the Gps, communication of extraordinary events, correspondence, estimated navigation, true route and compass heading, calculation of autonomy at sea, rigging and using the gennaker, staysail and storm jib, use of the autopilot and windvane rudder, anchoring under sail in the harbor, maintenance of the boat. The course is divided into 8 lessons of 3 hours each.
