Tamar Outdoor + Active Centre is conveniently located just inland of the coastal resort of Bude. The fun and relaxed atmosphere makes Tamar a great place to practice or learn a new watersport, or hire a range of equipment from from pedaloes and rowing boats to windsurfers and dinghies.

At Tamar Outdoor + Active Centre Canoeing we have loads of watersports on offering, including Canadian Canoes! Come out for a paddle on Upper Tamar Lake near Bude, Cornwall and enjoy learning the skills and techniques of paddling one of these traditional vessels. We offer a fantastic lake for learning and paddling as we boast sheltered and tide-free waters, making this a safe and comfortable environment.

We supply all of the equipment including canoe, paddle and buoyancy aid but feel free to bring your own along if you wish. Canoe owners may also come along with their boats and paddle at our venue for just a small launch fee!

Our location at the Tamar Outdoor + Active Centre Kayaking in Bude, Cornwall offers a fabulous location for learning to kayak. We offer official courses from the British Canoe Union, kayak hire and we also offer owners of kayaks to come along and paddle at our venue for only a small launch fee.

We offer the BCU 1 Star course which will teach paddlers the basic paddle skills to move the boat in all directions. For adults and children aged 8 years +. Our lake offers a brilliant tide-free area to learn to paddle on sheltered waters that are brilliant for beginners.

Tamar Outdoor and Active Centre Fishing near Bude on the North Cornwall coast, is made up of two lakes which offer a variety of fishing activities on both Upper and Lower Tamar Lake with many different species available.

Lower Tamar Lake is a season ticket only water with restricted numbers. But if great fishing and beautiful surroundings is what you're looking for it could be the place for you. With Carp to 35lb, Bream to 14lb and Roach to 3lb it offers excellent sport. Bags of 50lb are not uncommon on pole, feeder or float. There are also Rudd, Tench and Eels. Fishing Times are all year round, 24 hours a day.

Upper Tamar Lake is a quiet lake very well stocked with Carp well over 30lb with a good head of 20's. The lake record is a 46lb mirror carp caught in 2007. Regular 48 hour carp competitions are held with limited space available. Like Porth it is recognised as a major match fishing competition water. 50lb+ bags of bream and roach can be expected to feeder, pole or waggler. Whip fishing is also very productive with bags up to 30lb of roach and rudd. Perch and Eels are also available. Fishing Times are 24 hours a day all year round.

Tamar Outdoor + Active Centre Sailing provides a great location to take up or practice sailing. With no tides to worry about you can learn in a safe and relaxed environment. Our fully trained and qualified instructors are on hand to help teach you the correct techniques to help you become a confident and successful sailor and  we offer official RYA training.

Why not try out the sport of windsurding at Tamar Outdoor + Active Centre Windsurfing? As our venue is located on a sheltered lake, there are no tides to worry about, providing a perfect venue to learn and practice this exciting activity. Windsurfing is a grand sport for adults and children alike and we offer RYA instruction for those aged 8 or over as well as equipment hire.

Tamar Outdoor + Active Centre offers a number of courses for both the beginner and advanced windsurfer. Courses available include:

•    RYA Intermediate Non-planing

We offer a range of windsurf boards for hire at fantastic prices or you can launch your own board for a small launch fee and enjoy our excellent facilities and safety cover. To launch your own board you must have third party insurance in place.
