The Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club in Dover offers free sailing tasters, half-day sailing, 1-5 day courses, cruises and racing, as well as a lively social side with its club bar and social events. The Sailing School is a recognised RYA Training centre with its own chief instructor and training boat.

The Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club (RCPYC) is one of the oldest yacht clubs in England and is located on the seafront in Dover. We combine almost 150 years of tradition with contemporary flair. The club has the historical association with the ancient Cinque Ports, whose Lord Warden is the President of the Club. The Sailing School is there to help you increase your knowledge and competence in sailing, whether you are just starting to learn, or wish to improve your skills further, our instructor Terry is there to help you further. We offer the Royal Yachting Association Courses for Start Yachting, Competent Crew and Day Skipper and can even take you to RYA Yachtmaster level. Terry also offers shorebased courses such as navigation courses, VHF radio courses and personal sea safety courses.

Want to try out sailing on a yacht? The RCPYC Sailing School at the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club in Dover offers free sailing tasters, half-day sailing and 1-5 day courses to help you learn to sail and improve your sailing skills. Learn to sail with your friends, family, or colleagues. Chief Instructor Terry Lee looks forward to hearing from you to discuss your enquiry and help you further. The Club also has an active sailing and social scene.

Racing and Cruising is offered on a regular basis with shorebased training courses offered all year round such as navigation courses and VHF radio courses. We offer Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses with certificates such as Start Yachting, Competent Crew and Day Skipper, as well as training towards the Yachtmaster certificate. Terry can also help with own boat tuition and boat handling techniques.

We are there to help you gain skills and achieve your sailing aspirations. Mile building Cruises under the supervision of an instructor are available visiting local places as well as marinas in France and further afield. We also offer sailing for teenagers and ladies only days. Personal tuition for you and your family or colleagues is possible and we can put together a bespoke package for you on enquiry. The Sailing School boat is available for charter. We can provide a qualified skipper for you as well as a first mate. Sail to France for the weekend, or for the day along the coast. If you want to skipper the boat yourself, you will need to meet sailing experience and qualification criteria. You can also charter the boat for tuition purposes with our qualified sailing instructor. Bring the family or friends and learn to sail with us. We also offer corporate sailing days with our qualified skipper - great for team building or showing your appreciation for your employees.
