Orso Diving Boat Excursion, located in the heart of the Maddalena National Park, is the first and only center that organizes Cetacean Watching excursions in Sardinia.

All sea trips are carried out with boats specially designed for this type of excursion and only when the waters are calm, as sightings are easier to occur.

In this stretch of sea, thanks to the particular morphology of the seabed, it is possible to have sensational encounters spotting all types of cetaceans: sperm whales, Risso's dolphins, dolphins, fin whales, beaked whales, pilot whales and large schools of striped spinner dolphins, but also fish Moon, Turtles, Mobules, Swordfish, Sharks and Tunas.

Orso Diving - Whale Watching Sardinia has been organizing boat excursions for cetacean spotting since 2009, departing from the Poltu Quatu headquarters.

We sail towards the protected area, known as the "Cetacean Triangle", one of the areas of the Mediterranean most densely populated by large marine mammals such as the fin whale, the sperm whale, the Risso's dolphin, the striped dolphin, the dolphin common. etc.

Occasionally, in addition to cetaceans, tuna, sunfish, sea turtles and basking sharks are also sighted.

The tours available are:

• Offshore Whale Watching Excursion - navigation takes place aboard a large catamaran while Luca, the on-board guide, provides participants with valuable information on cetaceans and how to spot them. Once you reach the best area for whale watching, you wait patiently, scanning the water with binoculars and camera in hand. Around 11.30 there will be a stop to dive in a point where the sea reaches a depth of 1000 meters and you can practice deep-sea snorkelling. The cost of participation includes transport service from the hotel, open bar, aperitif/snack, complete snorkeling equipment, binoculars and information sheets, lesson on board with the marine guide. if no cetaceans are encountered during the excursion, 50% of the ticket cost will be refunded or you will be entitled to participate for free in the next excursion.
• Coastal Dolphin Watching Excursion - the excursion takes place aboard an agile dinghy equipped with GPS and depth sounder. An expert guide accompanies the navigation, providing participants with interesting information about dolphins and the Maddalena Archipelago. Included in the cost of the ticket are the transport service from the hotel, the snorkelling equipment and the accompaniment of the marine guide.
