Escuela de Vela Zaida

The Zaida Sailing School is, in addition to being a sailing school, many more things. It has been in operation for almost 20 years (it was created in 1994) from its facilities in Sancti Petri, province of Cádiz, about 40 kilometers southeast of the city of Cádiz.

More than 2000 students have already passed through the school. The most popular sport is sailing, but there are also other modalities such as surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing. All courses are taught by highly experienced instructors with the necessary qualifications to teach this type of courses. There are also courses for all levels so that everyone is comfortable with the pace of class progression. For example, in sailing there are initiation I, initiation II and improvement courses.

In addition to the water sports school, Zaida Sailing School also offers other activities such as sea or river kayaks, hiking, rollerball, boat rides, banana boat rides...

These activities can also be carried out for large groups to organize events such as Team Building or Bachelor Parties.

The Zaida Vela Sailing School is located in the Cadiz town of Sancti Petri, just half an hour by car from the city of Cádiz. Its courses are based on the criteria established by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation. Two main levels are offered:

- Initiation courses: These courses are taught on the Raquero (a perfectly equipped school boat). It lasts 12 hours spread over 5 days. It is an extensive introduction to sailing and all its secrets and serves to give you a first contact with this world. To go deeper you can take the advanced course.

- Advanced courses: It has the same duration as the previous courses. In this case they are taught in different boats depending on age. Children and young people can ride Optimist, Electron or Laser Pico. Adults can teach the class in Laser Pico, Laser, Electron or Catamaran Hobby Cat 15. The support of the instructors is done in an auxiliary boat.

Windsurfing is a very easy sport to practice, much more so than surfing. Furthermore, it does not require very specific weather conditions other than there being a reasonable wind. This requirement is more than met on the beaches of Sancti Petri (Cádiz), which is the town where the Zaida Windsurf Sailing School has its facilities.

This school offers windsurfing courses for everyone from Monday to Friday and in two shifts: in the morning or in the afternoon. They are taught by qualified instructors with extensive experience, and also include all the necessary material. There are two levels:

- Initiation course: This course is for beginners in this sport. You will be able to learn the basic windsurfing techniques, enough to be able to do this sport on your own.

- Improvement course: this course is more advanced and uses both shorter boards and larger sails with the help of a harness. Logically, the techniques learned are also more advanced.

If you don't need a course but want to windsurf you can also rent all the necessary material.
