AAntonyReviewed the 20/01/18The guides were very pleasant, the equipment was fine, the river area was very scenic.
So it would be fine for adults and strong young teens. But a word of warning if you have an uneven number of adults and younger children (ours were 6 up to 11) - with a current and headwind it was way to hard for two children in a canoe to paddle.
They were really panicking and nearly killed themselves getting back across - they were in tears.
Naturally with their age and inexperience they could not co-ordinate paddle strokes which made it worse and they argued.
I was expecting the guide to swap pairs around - but he didn't. You must have an adult in every boat with a child - and they should insist on that.
I would never had booked if I had known what a nightmare we had to go through. Even me as a small female with a useless young child as a partner - struggled and used every last ounce of energy I had. Not exactly as pleasant outing.
