Where can you go skydiving near Paris?

Due to air traffic, parachute jumps in the centre of Paris have been impossible for the past two decades. The Péronne airfield is located within a 100-200 km radius of the capital, more specifically in the Somme department, between Amiens and Saint-Quentin. Because there is a centre specializing in this kind of activity, this is the nearest spot to practice skydiving in Paris.

It is easily accessible by automobile from Paris and allows you to enter the tranquil area of the Somme valley. Indeed, this region stretches from the Picardy hills in the north to the Artois hills in the south, and it offers a breathtaking view of nature and a whole new view from the sky!

What kinds of jumps are available near Paris?

Depending on your skill level and desire, you have two choices:

- The PAC introduction leap (Accompanied Progression in Fall): It consists of a simple parachute jump under the guidance of an instructor and is excellent for those who want to try something new near Paris. During your time on the ground at Péronne airfield, you will receive theoretical training from an expert instructor who will instruct you on what to perform. It will then accompany you from takeoff to landing on a flight that will take you to a height of 4000 meters (maybe you'll even get a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower!). Your instructor will be by your side at all times and will open the parachute for you. During your jump, you will have the opportunity to experience free fall for 30 seconds to 1 minute above the tranquil Somme Valley. You'll be videotaped from the ground for a more immersive experience.

- PAC skydiving training: This is a four-day course during which you will be able to jump six times, all within the Somme region. This activity is best suited for persons who have already completed a parachute jump and wish to repeat the experience. You will be accompanied by two professionals during your first jump between Somme and Aisne, who will assist you through a parachute opening simulation. Beginning with the second jump, you will be in the company of a single instructor, who will continue to work with you on the plane exit and your initial rotations during the third and fourth leaps. With this process, you will keep learning until you reach the sixth jump, which can be done solo depending on your skill level.

The equipment for all of these alternatives will be given by the Péronne airport, and you will simply need to dress comfortably. A medical certificate stating that there are no contraindications is also required. The activity must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for minors. Finally, skydiving has a weight limit of 90 kilograms.

So, don't waste any more time and get going!
