This river takes its name from the Arabic "al Qantarah", which means "the bridge", serving since ancient times as a crossing point from the Sicilian hinterland to the coast.

The river bed was invaded by lava flows that followed one another in various eras, which created an evocative scenario of basalts with a more or less degraded surface morphology, compact and superimposed to form banks of rock interspersed with scoriaceous horizons.

During the river excursions organized by Etna Excursion you can walk along the river, without the aid of rafts or canoes, following the direction of the water, with dives, jumps, and slides.

On board of 4x4 off-road vehicles, strategic points are reached from which walking tours start to see lava flows, summit craters, gurne of the Alcantara river, archaeological sites, ancient rural villages, etc.

The tours always take place in the company of a naturalistic, tourist or volcanological guide, who will make the activities more exciting and interesting, combining trekking with the discipline of ecorunning and orienteering.

Etna Excursion Adventure Parks presents a new way of doing tourism in the adventure sector with the creation of its Etna Surviving Park.

It is a fun adventure park, divided into six courses of increasing level of difficulty, with equipped areas and safe ateliers.

One path is dedicated in particular to children and young people of school age.

Etna is a still active volcano, and also the largest in Europe , declared UNESCO heritage in 2013. The view from the top of the volcano will take your breath away and make you experience an emotion that you will hardly forget.

The excursion will start from the north side of the volcano , and slowly, guided by professionals with proven experience , you will be able to explore all the beauties of this unique pearl of the Sicilian region.

You will find a landscape as beautiful as it is variegated: you will, in fact, range from luxuriant forests , abruptly cut by the lava of 2002, which devastated the territory.

The excursion includes a visit to Piana Provenzana , to visit and see with your own eyes the places of the eruption, at a height of 1800 meters . You will be assisted by a naturalistic guide who, knowing the area very well, will guide you in a historical and naturalistic excursus of the entire area.

The maximum capacity of the helicopter is 5 people.
