• Monday excursion - Alcantara River Park

a simple and exciting tour of about 30 km; duration about 5 hours; medium difficulty; you ride on asphalt and natural ground; locations visited: Alcantara River Park, Alcantara Gorges, Castiglione di Sicilia, hazelnut cultivation and vineyards.

• Wednesday excursion - Etna Volcano, "Rivers of Rock" itinerary

duration of the excursion about 5 hours; 25 km; medium difficulty; you ride on a forest road with natural ground; you cross: the Pineta Ragabo, the lava flow of the eruption of 2002, of 1923, the crater of 1911 with its channel, the "Piano dei Dammusi" (formed by an eruption that lasted ten years), the Grotta dei Lamponi.

The cost of participation includes the rental of a mountain bike, helmet and accompaniment of a qualified instructor.

Alcantara Quad Excursions offers exciting itineraries to all those who wish to get to know the cultural and landscape beauties of eastern Sicily by whizzing aboard fun quads.

Among the recommended routes:

• Valle Alcantara - starting from the Alcantara Gorges, proceed towards Francavilla di Sicilia along a dirt road; visit to the Convent of the Capuchin Friars and to the Antiquarium (with precious archaeological finds); crossing of the Alcantara river and return to the Gorges; duration of the excursion from 1h, 30 to 2h, 30
• Itinerary of Etna - it starts from the Alcantara Gorges and proceeds on dirt roads towards Castiglione (renowned city of wine); continue towards Linguaglossa, from where you can admire the most distant crater of the Etna system (the Vulcanetto di Moio Alcantara); you cross the numerous lava flows dating back to various eras until you reach the Coruccio cave and Piano Provenzana (1,850 m altitude); it is also possible to visit the craters formed following the 2002 eruption; another alternative is to continue along the south-east side of Etna to admire the Valle del Bove and visit the Sartorius Mountains; duration 4-6 hours
• Montagna Grande - departure from the Alcantara Gorges; we leave for Motta Camastra along a dirt road; after about an hour and a half you reach the summit of Montagna Grande, from which you can admire the enchanting panorama of the Aeolian Islands, the Calabra Coast and the Alcantara river; stop in the small town of Motta Camastra (with possible visit to churches and monuments); duration half day.
