Fondazione Arena di Verona

Fondazione Arena di Verona is a cultural institution, whose main objective is the production and dissemination of music and musical culture more generally.

Thanks to the contribution of private individuals and companies, the foundation can work every day to enhance the work of the main protagonists of its activities: the choir and the orchestra, which make it possible the continuous dialogue between music and society, artists and spectators.

Since 1913, every year, the Lyrical Festival of the Arena di Verona has been staged, created to commemorate the birth of Giuseppe Verdi, on August 10th: every year this amphitheater Rome is transformed into the largest open-air opera theater in the world.

But, obviously, Verona is not just the Arena: in the city of Juliet and Romeo, the Church of San Zeno Maggiore awaits you, a of the greatest examples of Romanesque architecture in Italy, Piazza delle Erbe, the oldest and full of medieval buildings, Palazzo Maffei with its house museum, which houses more than 350 artistic works and much more.
