Darlton Gliding Club

Welcome to Darlton Gliding Club! 

We are a friendly, welcoming Gliding Club with members from various areas including South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire. We are conveniently located between the A1 and A57.

We welcome everyone to our club, including complete beginners, and you are welcome to come along and find out more about the sport and take a trial lesson.  If you can drive a car, you can problem fly a glider! During the trial lesson, you will be accompanied by an instructor who will show you how to use the controls, and you will even have the chance to fly the aircraft if you wish.

• Trial lesson flights: This is the ideal option for those who have never experienced a glider flight.
• Mini-Courses: For those who would like to continue to explore this air sport and take the first steps in it.
• Full Courses: Tailoring for those who would like to take further and become an advanced flyer. 

The minimum age to fly solo is 16, but you can start learning at younger than 16, as long as you are able to reach the controls. You will also need a medical form signed by a doctor before you can fly solo.
