"We have gone three marriages and a young child to do mushing for the first time. We were so satisfied that my wife and I, if possible in the near future, would like to make a longer excursion. The first impression was that the dogs passed cold, but once they were put into action their enthusiasm quickly spread to humans. Our musher (Germán) showed great driving skills, and proved to be an excellent traveling companion. A very well coordinated activity. A recommended experience for all ages."

"The experience was fantastic, I recommend 100 per 100 !!! It made for a spectacular day and the monitors were very attentive and friendly. We had an unforgettable day. There was not enough snow for the donuts and we changed it for half an hour on a motorcycle instead of 15 minutes, which we found very good. It is a very fun pack and with each activity you enjoy a different way, so spend a special day, yes, it is a little tired, so I recommend bringing good supplies to continue with strength. The rackets very funny and the puppies ... I would have taken them all !! Laughter with archery, effort with cross country skiing ..... we will never forget it."

Tips if you are going to do Dog Sledding in Spain

The ski stations, day by day, offer more alternatives for those snow fans. Skiing and snowboarding, are always a classic, but the list of activities is getting longer because the public wants to experience different experiences suitable for everyone. Well, then, mushing is one of those really special adventures. You don’t know what is mushing? This is a sled dragged by Nordic dogs. The best way to discover it is trying it, but if you still are not 100% convinced, read these 5 reasons.

1. Unforgettable experience through snowy woodlands



Mushing is one of the most fun, exciting and special activities that can be experienced on the snow. You will travel different paths, both on and off the track where the white stamp because the snow will be the protagonist. You will feel how the strength of the dogs sliding you down the mountain, it will be something incredible. In addition, you can get close and connect with these beautiful Nordic canines.

2. Share this adventure with the little ones



If your stay among snow will be enjoyed with the family, mushing, without a doubt, is one of those alternatives to share with everyone. Since in the majority of the cases, the minors from 2 years, and always accompanied by an adult will be able to carry out the activity. There are different types of sledges, with capacities from 2 to 4 people, so you can ride all together in the same vehicle or divide into two and go along the path simultaneously. We assure you that the little ones will be left with their mouths open and will enjoy every second of the journey to the fullest. The happiness that will be reflected in their faces, will have no price.

3. Be you who drives the sled



Yes, you read well, and we are not crazy. There are options with which it will be you who drives the led, but, always under the supervision from the musher, who will tell all the basic notions so you can take and control that sled. Also, he/she will go to your side for everything you need. But calm, that there will also be space in the sled so that 1 person or 2, depending on the size of it, can accompany you in this chilly adventure.

4. Feel like a resident of Laponia



You will put yourself in the skin of an authentic Lapp, when hundreds of years ago, they used this method to transport themselves from one place to another, a quick and easy one. Well, now you can do it a little bit closer, in Huesca, Lleida or Andorra, where you will be able to find routes of different duration to live this experience. Also, if you want to include a magical extra, you can also practice mushing at night, and discover the charm of the night landscape. You can combine this activity with dinner in shelter or with other sports such as snowmobiles, snowshoeing or igloo building.

5. You can also go mushing during the Summer, try it on land



If you do not want to wait until the winter, when the snowfalls make their star appearance, you can try to ride a sled on wheels on land. Also, will be pulled by a group of dogs of Nordic breeds: Siberian Husky, Samoyed or Alaska Malamuten among others. The wheels will allow the sled to move on the sandy ground. So if you are someone who flees from the cold and snow, you will always have this modality.

Ideal moment to practice mushing



Without a doubt, the perfect moment is Winter, but like you know, snow does not always appear and go on the same dates, each year can vary, although generally the season for mushing is usually from December to March, being able to overtake or delay depends on the snow and place. If you decide to do mushing on land, you can carry it out from April to November. Of course, if your idea is to try this sport on the bridge in December or at Christmas, you must organize it as soon as possible to ensure availability.
