Via ferrata of Cuevas de San Marcos in Antequera

If you have recently discovered the exciting world of via ferrata and now you are staying up late looking for an ideal corner to try your hand at, there is no better place than the ferrata of the Cuevas de San Marcos , in the Málaga municipality of the same name belonging to the Antequera region. This is an initiation route of approximately 2 hours long. Very simple, but with some challenging challenges that release a lot of adrenaline.

With us you will only need to come with mountain or sports shoes and comfortable clothing. We take care of the rest. The via ferrata of the Cuevas de San Marcos takes place in the National Park of the Sierra del Camorro Fault, an enormous rocky mass through which we will ascend in search of a good injection of adrenaline and enviable views. This itinerary begins along a forest trail that starts from the Millennium Path Interpretation Center. It will be a kilometer walk until we reach the Mirador de la Sierra del Camorro, where we will see a path heading east that will take us to the beginning of the ferrata.

In general, the ferrata of the Cuevas de San Marco is as impressive as it is enjoyable, after all, it is an initiation route with a K2 classification, a route of 145 meters and a gradient of barely 50 meters. However, the beginning is a delight, as we come across two very marked strong falls where there are no staples to climb, but rather we will be helped by a lifeline, so we will need to gather all our strength.
After passing through these very aerial and vertical falls, the rest is, as they say, "single and easy." We will gain altitude quickly after this short, but powerful current of intensity and from the heights we will have views at our feet that will take your words away, as we will enjoy a panoramic view of the Tajo del Reloj, of the entire town of Cuevas de San Marcosand the beautiful Iznájar reservoir, filled with emerald green waters that enchant the eyes, especially from our privileged point.
