Unity Technology Camp in Bilbao 3 Days

Are your children passionate about video games and spend hours and hours with the controller in their hand overcoming increasingly complicated challenges? Are they capable of progressing in the game? game progressing through phases with an increasing level of difficulty? Why not invest that time in something practical like, for example, developing your own video game?

It may sound a little far-fetched, but it is not at all. If you are passionate about something, why not make it a reality through a useful app? There can be no greater personal satisfaction than creating something of your own, with determination and effort, and, on top of that, being able to prove it before the astonished gaze of those around us.

And that is the proposal that we are going to make to children over 12 years old for the summer vacations: during 3 days of the month of July strong>, from the 26th to the 28th, we have planned a technology camp for the little ones to design their own video game, which would be a customized replica of Mario Kart, the popular racing game from the Nintendo brand.

Ourworkshop will take place every morning, from 09:00 to 14:00, in the AS Fabrik Urban Laboratories located in the city of strong>Bilbao, next to theNervión River and in front of the UPV/EHU Library. All lessons will be taught by expert teachers in the Unity program, necessary to carry out our task.

Through it, we will have the opportunity to devise our own circuit, to which we can add curves, bumps, lengths and other elements; configure various items that help (or hinder) other users and outline the appearance and attributes of our characters.

To do this, there will be a continuous learning process that begins with the import of 3D models, with their respective components such as meshes, coordinates, textures and materials, the basis of almost all video games today. It seems extremely complex but we assure you that the children will soak up this dynamic right away.

It is recommended that all attendees have certain basic knowledge related to programming and computing. In addition, it would also be a plus if the participants are fans of technology, in general, and of video games, in particular. Finally, another advantage to take into accountaccount is that students will even be able to draw the elements that will later be integrated into the game interface

Who knows, maybe one of your children will become the next Hideo Kojima, creator and director of one of the most famous sagas in the world, Metal Gear Solid.
