Summer arrives and the children always spend it in the same way, which, of course, is their right if they have obtained good grades, it is a vacation strong>totally deserved. But, why not alternate leisure time with training in something original that, at the same time, is just as excitingthan going out to play with friends?
Well, that is what we have achieved with our summer campus held in Bilbao from July 26 to 28, a unique event that will take place at the AS Urban Laboratories Fabrik: combining the best of learning a different subject, in this case knowledge in robotics, with an enormously entertaining program .
The children are going to leave hallucinating and wanting to expand on what they have seen in the course syllabus. In addition, we have the most qualified professionals, a team of qualified teachers, with official qualifications, who will give classes during business hours. 09:00 in the morning to 14:00 in the afternoon for three consecutive days.
Ready for what's coming? Nothing less than facing the construction of a robot made up of 146 blocks of pieces, up to 4 motors and 4 special wheels, Meccanum, of movement omnidirectional. Thanks to these gears, our robot will be able to move diagonally and rotate on itself at an angle of 360 degrees.
Likewise, it has a built-in HuskyLens smart camera that helps you recognize objects, shapes and colors, as well as perform tasks related to detecting lines or tracking some elements. In this way, our Yahboom OmniWheel mobile robot will be distinguished from the usual functionalities of other machines.
This device, like the management of its 4 motors, depends entirely on the programming with MakeCode of a Micro:bit board that we use to control their movements and boost their own learning. Likewise, the incorporation of this camera developed by DFRobot in our workshop is an incentive for the students, by allowing them to explore the possibilities of automation.
