The experience will begin at 8:00 in the morning in front of the Venta Marcelino, in the port of Cotos, where we will meet and we will distribute the necessary material to take our tour. Once the entire group has gathered, the guide will teach you how to put on your snowshoes and how to walk with them. This explanation will be very simple, since this technique is simple and accessible to all ages, so previous experience is not necessary.
With our goal set on the Peñalara Glacier Circus, we will walk along the slopes of the mountain, visiting the Zabala refuge, made of granite and concrete. We will ascend until we reach the famous and impressive Laguna Grande. Throughout the journey there will be frequent notes about the geology of this place, which still preserves morphological signs that serve as a witness to its history.
The total distance we will walk will be 7 to 10 km depending on the pace of the group. We can make stops whenever children or adults need it, these are always convenient to gain strength and to carefully contemplate the environment that surrounds us. The mountain of La Bola del Mundo and the peaks of Cabeza de Hierro are, for example, some of the points that can be reached with your eyes.
This activity will come to an end around one or two in the afternoon, to allow you to have a quiet and well-deserved lunch.
