The caves are not usually that deep, they have a maximum depth between 18 and 25 meters with an average between 9 and 12 meters. A common effect in cenote caves is the halocline effect and that divers love, it is a phenomenon that happens when salt water from the sea mixes with fresh water from rain. that feeds the cenote, creating a very surreal blurry cloud-like visual effect.
