We know all about it, because we’ve been running white water rafting experiences in Bala, Gwynedd, for almost 40 years. Our experience and expertise allow us to deliver a rafting event that leaves you amazed - and thoroughly wet - in just one hour.
Believe it or not, one hour is enough to tackle our grade 3 and 4 rapid run twice over! The rapids are on the Afon Tryweryn, a dam-fed river which is one of the best, and most reliable, for rafting in the whole of the British Isles.
We provide you with helmets and life jackets while we brief you on safety at the beginning of the session. You can bring your own wetsuit or rent one of ours for an additional fee. Once kitted out, we’ll head to the water.
We use inflatable rafts for 2 to 6 occupants plus a trained instructor. Rafting is a safe activity, but you need to be able to swim 25 metres, weigh in at less than 115 kilograms or 18 stone and be over 12 years of age.

White Water Rafting on the Afon Tryweryn for 2h
Deal overview
The river we’re talking about is a white water torrent of grade 3 and 4 rapids! It’s the Afon Tryweryn in North Wales’ Snowdonia National Park.
It’s probably the best place in the UK for white water rafting. The dam-release fed river means that the river is heartily full of water whenever we go rafting. Best of all, this 2-hour session includes 3 separate descents of the rapid route.
Our inflatable rafts have space for up to six people and a qualified instructor, but can run with as few as two. Each occupant must be over 12 years old, able to swim 25 metres and weigh less than 115 kilograms (18 stone).
We’ll kit you out with helmets and life jackets while delivering a safety briefing at the start of the session. You will need a wetsuit, you own or one of ours rented for a small fee. Bring a towel and a swimsuit too and we’re ready to ride the rapids.
