Half Day Rafting at River Derwent

We offer a unique opportunity that is rewarding in many ways and asks you to build something you're proud of, a vessel you trust!

The location is the beautiful River Derwent at Darley Abbey, and the task is to build a raft strong enough to carry you along with your group along the stunning river.

This is a fun activity, open to those of all ages and experiences; we encourage everyone to come along and get involved. We have a team of qualified instructors who will guide you through each stage of the half-day activity.

For the raft building, we will supply all the equipment and tools you need to construct a raft fit to brave the waters, and once you have been well briefed, we will provide a paddle and buoyancy aid to ensure you are ready to hop onboard and begin paddling.

You will be guided on the river adventure, so don't worry; safety will always be a priority; we want you to focus on challenging yourself and having fun, working together with friends and family to design. There is sure to be no shortage of lifelong memories created and laughter to be had.

A healthy mixture of learning and fun is perfect for any experience, especially one that is not only open to people of all ages and abilities but is entertaining for paddlers, young and old.

This full day of rafting gives you lots of time to build a raft worthy of gliding along the River Derwent at Darley Abbey and engage in many fun games while rafting through the Derbyshire countryside, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and stunning sights.

Each step of the way, you will be joined by a qualified instructor, from providing raft-building equipment and dropping pieces of expert insights and support to help you build a solid structure to carry you down the river.

We also supply a paddle and buoyancy aid to assist you on your travels, along with a safety briefing beforehand and some time to practice paddling, turning and stopping.
