Hoces del Duratón technological summer camp

Technologies advance at breakneck speed and sometimes it is difficult for adults to keep up. However, children have a greater capacity for learning and adaptation. You can make your child take advantage of it, through our fantastic technological summer camp that we will do next to the Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park.

This camp will take place on the following dates:

• From July 23 to 30.

We are going to divide the participants into two subgroups, by age.

• The one for the little ones will be from 8 to 11 years old. With them we will explore the Star Wars universe thanks to such fun tools as Minecraft and the simple programming language Scratch.
• From 12 onwards, we will do the one for the older ones. They will have their first experience in programming, robotics and electronics. We will use Arduino. We will also learn to create video games with the Unity 3D program. We will make electronic machines with our own hands.

In addition, both groups will dedicate an hour each day to learning how to program and fly real drones.

We combine all the technological part with a series of activities, outdoor games and sports, to enjoy the company of other children and the incredible environment that the Hoces Natural Park offers us. of the Duratón River.

We will have accommodation at the Hoces del Duratón hostel, in the municipality of San Pedro de Gaíllos, within Segovia. If you come from Madrid, it will only take 90 minutes. This town has a Romanesque church from the 13th century. It also has all the services that are needed, such as a medical center, pharmacy, etc.

Our hostel will be able to accommodate 60 children, distributed in 10 bunk rooms. There is bedding, but each participant must bring their own towel. All rooms have a bathroom.

We have a large industrial kitchen where we prepare the homemade menus that we will serve in the dining room. Likewise, we have a multipurpose room with television and an interior patio.

We will reserve Wednesday to take a beautiful excursion to the Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park, after breakfast. Once there we can delight in seeing a colony of almost 500 griffon vultures, whose nests are at the top of the sickles. It is the largest colony of this animal that exists in all of Europe. We will also see other types of birds of prey (Egyptian vultures, peregrine falcons, golden eagles...). We will arrive at the hermitage of San Frutos and its incredible viewpoint. The panoramic view from here takes your breath away.

InAs for sports activities, we can play tennis, soccer or volleyball. We will also use the municipal swimming pool, very close to the hostel.

Other activities that we will propose will be:

• Astronomical nights.
• Classic games.
• Treasure hunt.
• Videoforum.
