E-bike route to Monte Abantos medium level 4h

If you already have experience in cycling and are looking for new routes, come on Saturday to Zarzalejo and take a spectacular route.

You don't have to bring your own mountain bike, because we are going to leave you a wide-wheeled electric bicycle, ideal for the route we have planned.

Generally we leave towards the Silla de Felipe II and then cross the Herrería forest, which is also considered National Heritage. We reach San Lorenzo de El Escorial and from here we begin to ascend Monte Abantos. We will be at 1400 meters above sea level, and we will circulate through the Sierra.

We will arrive at Robledondo, a place from which we will begin the descent through the Puerto de la Cruz Verde, passing through the large expanses of pine trees until we reach Zarzalejo again.

We have another alternative that would take us from Zarzalejo towards La Machota, crossing pine and chestnut forests, to reach Barrerillos Blancos, at an altitude of 1350 meters. It is a fascinating place because of the views we get of both the valley and the Monastery of El Escorial. The descent is also done through La Cruz Verde to reach Robledo de Chavela and do a fairly technical section to return to Zarzalejo.

It is essential to have experience to take on these routes, since they are not suitable for the uninitiated. We will always go in small groups, maximum 6 participants.
