This is a more interactive experience than a museum tour that still allows you to absorb the rich history of Birmingham while exploring the city and seeing its sights first-hand from the unique perspective of the water.

There's lots to learn and fun to have paddling along a 3-mile carefully crafted route with plenty of landmarks to spot along the way, such as the International Convention Centre, The Cube, The Mailbox and much more, each with a unique history that tells a tale of the city Birmingham was and is today.

Giving you this valuable history lesson will be one of our passionate guides who will happily share their local knowledge and expertise to ensure you have an unforgettable experience.

All of our guides are vastly qualified in kayaking, so you don't need any experience to paddle on Birmingham's Canals with us but you will need to have a moderate fitness level. We can cater to all ability levels, so we will make you feel prepared and confident with a safety briefing, kayaking instructions and the full equipment, which includes the kayak, paddle, and buoyancy aid.

Please note that this price is exclusive to those between 8 and 12. Any participants are 13 and older can check out our equivalent price; all under 18's must be in the company of an adult to join us on this adventure.

We advise you to wear some gym gear and appropriate footwear as your lower half will get wet over the 90 minutes, so bring a towel for drying and a change of clothes.

Walking around Birmingham's landmarks along the canal is great, and we offer various walking tours, but actually getting onto the water in a kayak gives a more authentic perspective of the canals that are a true highlight of the city, with the biggest and widest canal network in Europe.

Our team of qualified guides have the expertise and experience to lead paddlers of any ability level through the heart of the city. This price is specific to those 13 and over but also has prices to allow children to get involved and make it a family adventure through the city.

This tour will depart from one of the many heritage sites you will encounter on this trip, The Roundhouse, and you will head out along the route of James Brindley's first canal, passing many of Birmingham's hidden treasures across a 3-mile carefully crafted route for the perfect blend of adventure and history lessons provided by your local guide for around 90 minutes.

We recommend wearing gym gear and appropriate footwear as you will get your lower half wet, so bring a towel and change of clothes as well, but we supply all the equipment, including the kayak, paddle and buoyancy aid.
