Descent of the Gaves valley by kayak - 1/2 day

We will meet you in Villelongue, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, at our nautical base located directly on the banks of the river. After a quick briefing, we equip you with all theapproved equipmentnecessary for the descent: helmet, paddle, life jacket, not forgetting theair boat! The modern little brother of the traditional kayak, the air boat is a small inflatable boat, ideal for taming the torrential flow of the Gave and enjoying all the thrills that the wild elements of the Pyrenees have to offer you.

To carry out this adventure, you will need a swimsuit, good waterproof sneakers and sun protection depending on the weather. Accompanying you on board his own boat, an instructor will ensure your safety and will provide you with all the advice you may need.

The activity is accessible from 14 years old. You need to know how to swim and be in good physical condition to do it: it is therefore not recommended for pregnant women and people suffering from back pain. Hours may vary depending on the season and the level of the river, especially during the snowmelt period.

Taking place from April to November, this aquatic activity offers you a delicious cocktail of thrills, to share in a group in the mythical Vallée des Gaves des Hautes- Pyrenees. You will ride its white waters aboard an air boat, a single-seater inflatable kayak guaranteeing you a memorable solo experience.

No more eternal conflicts over who should paddle left or right to avoid rocks! On an air boat, you are in complete control of your boat and can navigate as you wish. When the rhythm of the Gave is suitable, you can even race while admiring the green landscapes that you will cross. In the middle of the day and to allow you to enjoy more of the natural setting in which the activity takes place, we make a lunch stop on the banks of the Gave.

Good to know:

• You must know how to swim and be at least 14 years old to do the activity.
