We’re based in Christchurch Harbour, probably one of the best places to discover kayaking in the Southwest. Fed by the waters of the Rivers Stour and Avon and protected from the sea by Hengistbury Head, it’s a tranquil place to try the sport.
This one-hour taster session is designed for people who haven’t been in a kayak before. It covers everything from lifting and launching the boat to reading the weather and tides. But, most importantly, there’s lots of time and tuition dedicated to paddling around the harbour.
The members of our team have decades of experience helping people get involved in kayaking, so you know you're in good hands. In addition, your instructor will provide you with all the equipment, including a kayak, a paddle and a wetsuit - at no extra cost.
This session is suitable for anyone over the age of 8. It’s not necessary to be a waterports veteran or even a champion swimmer, but you should be comfortable in and around the water.
