Horse trekking in Madonie Park 3 days

A fantastic horseback trek, lasting 4 days and 3 nights, travelling immersed in the wild nature of Palermo, far from the chaos of the big cities, breathing clean air and enjoying the sounds of nature... it's the perfect escape to regenerate!

Your adventure will begin at home Il Bosco, immersed in the wild nature of the Cefalù territory, in the Madonie Park, with breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Coast and the Aeolian Islands. A dinner with local products and overnight stay will await you.

After breakfast, you will meet with our expert guides, you will be assigned horses and once you have sledded in the saddle you will enter through lush vegetation and Mediterranean woods, with a view of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The route passes through enchanting changing forests among holm oaks, corks and downy oaks until reaching the village of Isnello, a village of medieval origins. A picnic surrounded by nature is planned in the surroundings of this area.

During the afternoon we will continue to the northern side of the Carbonara Massif, crossing lush woods of oak and beech trees and other typical species of this area.

We will then arrive at Piano Battaglia, a renowned mountain resort located within the Madonie Park. Right here you can enjoy a dinner with local specialties and stay overnight at the Hotel Rifugio Marini.

You will start your day with a peaceful and peaceful awakening accompanied by a delicious breakfast, we will reach the Battaglietta, a karst sinkhole where the waters sink after the snow melts. 

The route will last approximately six hours, we will continue to Pizzo Carbonara, the second peak in Sicily. In this uncontaminated area you can spot deer and wild goats grazing.
 
To recharge our energy we will have a panoramic picnic in Portella Mandarini and then continue along ancient mountain paths, until we reach Geraci Siculo, one of the most evocative medieval villages of the Madonie. The town is dominated by the remains of the castle of the ancient and powerful Sicilian feudal family, the Ventimiglias.

After an intense day you can enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Donna VI, with the possibility of taking a wellness program.

Another busy and fun day will begin, after breakfast you will get on your bike for another seven-hour excursion, we will cross the historic center of Geraci SIculo and go down a large cork road, finally reaching the surroundings of Castelbuono, where a picnic is planned with a view of the remains of an ancient water mill.
Once finishedthe excursion returns to Casa del Bosco, here you will have your last dinner with an overnight stay, and then wake up the next morning with a pre-departure breakfast.

How will your days unfold? The first appointment will be at Casa il Bosco at eight o'clock, here the horses will be assigned and we will set off on the excursion. It starts with a beautiful climb amidst wild vegetation and Mediterranean woods, with a unique view of the Tyrrhenian Coast.  We will enter through the cork and oak woods to then reach the area of Isnello, a medieval village where we will have a picnic before starting another route.

We will continue on the northern side of the Carbonara Massif, crossing lush woods up to Piano Battaglia, a famous mountain resort, in the heart of the Madonie Park where we will have dinner based on excellent typical products. 
The overnight stay will be at the Hotel Rifugio Marini.

In the morning, before starting your second day, you will recharge your energy with an excellent breakfast, we will get on the saddle to pass by the Battagliatta where the melting waters of the snow flow, from here we will descend to the village of Isnello up to the Sanctuary of Gibilmanna, spiritual center of the diocese of Cefalû.
