We have multiple options for trekking in the East Isle of Burra, and we range them in length. If you have previous experience and abilities with trekking, then you must join us to explore the most breathtaking areas of this place. You will need to allow a time frame of 2-2.5 hours to explore without a hurry.

The trek takes you over a fantastic tombolo, where you'll encounter a grassy and picturesque track towards an ancient settlement. It's called Symbister. From there, you'll see magical views of the area as you enjoy the company of our horses. They are well-trained and willing to be petted.

We have six horses available, meaning you are more than welcome to come with other experienced riders. The best time of the year for this trekking tour is from June to August. The minimum age to participate is 12 years old. However, we welcome younger riders if they have skills. The maximum weight is 14.5 stones (92kg). Don't less this adventure pass and live it now!

We operate our trekking sessions at Burra on the East Isle. We have three treks available that we range according to length and ability level. Our 2.5-hour trekking tour is aimed at people with previous experience. The sole purpose of our horse trekking adventures is to discover the most beautiful sceneries of Shetland.

The trek will take you over a tombolo leading to a grassy track towards Symbister, an ancient settlement. We will take a short break there to explore and enjoy the sights, and after that, we will go over a hill to have the best perspective of South Havra island. You will also encounter a cliff arch into the sea. It's a breathtaking area that will leave you speechless.

Not to mention our well-trained and friendly horses! We have six Icelandic horses ready to take you on an adventure. They are willing to be petted and are well-behaved all the time! You are welcome to come with your family and friends. Please note all participants need the same level of experience.

The maximum weight we require is 14.5 stones (92 kg) and a minimum age of 12 years old. Younger children are welcome upon ability level. Our trekking for improvers is available from June-August!
