Horseback riding at L'Étang Salé - Reunion Island - 2h

Here is an activity not to be missed if you want to visit Reunion Island soon: a horseback ride between forest and ocean in the southwest of the island. 

More concretely, to carry out this great activity, you will have to join us at the equestrian center at the Étang-Salé-les-Hauts. Easily reachable (only 15-20 minutes) from Saint-Leu or Saint-Pierre.

We welcome all types of public, ranging from the most beginner to the most experienced. The groups will be established so that the pace of the ride pleases all participants. 

Once booked and found the meeting place, here is how your horseback ride will take place:

• You will be waited by your instructor in charge, who after presentations, will give you some safety instructions to follow as well as some practical advice.
• You will receive the necessary equipment including the bomb and we will help you get into the saddle. 
• Once ready, you can set off for approximately two hours of walking. 
• During this, you explore the Étang-Salé forest and its tropical vegetation before ending your walk on the heavenly beaches of this corner of the island. The opportunity to take your best photos and take a break to relax.

Do you want to see Reunion Island differently than from a car or a viewpoint saturated with people? This ride is an hour on horseback in the coastal forest of Étang-Salé. Sand under the hooves, casuarina trees around, smell of eucalyptus, corners of shade which are good. You move forward calmly, and you quickly understand why people consider it a real moment, not just another activity.

What you are buying, clearly: a supervised outing of around 1 hour on horseback, in a small group, in the Étang-Salé forest, with safety and equipment briefing. The rhythm is adapted to the level of the group, because the goal is not to play heroes, it is to enjoy. And yes, it’s also the kind of outing where you come back lighter than when you went.

In direct contact with nature and the sand of the Reunion Beaches, do you know a better way to visit a place than on the back of a horse?

Enjoy the sun and the tropical and heavenly landscapes that the island offers you, during a horseback ride of approximately three hours in the vicinity of Saint-Pierre. You will explore the beaches of the southwest of the island, more specifically the famous Étang Salé on a horse.

The horses are perfectly trained and used to all types of passengers, however, you must have already ridden horses before and be capable of going at 3 gaits.


Program of the activity:

• First, you will have to go to the equestrian center at Étang-Salé-les-Hauts to find your instructor.
• After having discovered the center and meeting the horse that will be specially assigned to you, you will have to put on your bob (obligatory) and get into the saddle.  
• You can start your walk through the wild nature towards the beach, where most of your walk will take place.
• After having had the privilege of walking on the sands of Reunion, you will find the paths leading to the equestrian center, where you can say your goodbyes.
