Get a feel for island life.

Join us on the Isle of Lewis for a horse ride that takes in human heritage and natural beauty. We are based in the township of North Tolsta, with the ocean on one side and the peat moors on the other.

From the riding centre, we’ll ride up to a high point looking over Loch Gormag Mor and the interior of the island, then return by timeworn trails. Cutting peat was an essential part of the island economy and we follow in the footsteps and hoof prints of those who work in it.

This is a 75-minute ride which can be adapted for riders with different levels of experience. Those who are comfortable in the saddle can trot and canter at certain points, and everyone will love the panoramic views.

We have a horse that can carry people who weigh 16 stone but the others have a weight limit of 13 stone or less. We can take group bookings of up to 10 people and supply riding hats to all. The minimum age to ride with us is 4 years old.
