How would you like to come for a beach ride with us? If you have experience on horseback, comfortable with cantering and handling a horse on different surfaces, pay us a visit on one of the most spectacular beaches in the British Isles.
Traigh Mhòr is a 2-mile expanse of sand on the remote island of Lewis, the largest of the Outer Hebrides. It boasts pristine golden sand, rocky headlands to the side and grassy dunes behind. Riding a horse here is a fantasy made reality.
We will start this experience by pairing you up with a suitable horse - our maximum weight is 13 stone but we can take one rider of 16 stone. Then we’ll do a quick assessment of your ability at our riding centre in North Tolsta township. We supply tack and riding hats.
Then we’ll set off for the beach and ride the whole length, before turning and heading back and just enjoying ourselves. It takes about 2 hours. You, as an individual or a group, will be supervised by an experienced ride leader.
