Hiking route to the Añavingo Arafo ravine

Dare to explore one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Tenerife island, in the Canary Islands, with this hiking route through the Añavingo ravine. An excursion that does not reach 3 km, we will complete it in approximately 3 hours and it is ideal for walking without overexertion.

With this tour, we want to introduce you to the hydrological attractions of the Tenerife municipality of Arafo. To do this, we will start from the Mill and Lavaderos, an area close to the Casona, which is on the corner of Los Carros and passes through the Añavingo ravine.

Our route begins by crossing a bridge where the Gambuesas ravine ends. We will advance along a wide path that will eventually lead us to another bridge from which we can contemplate the Galleria El Paso ravine if we look to our right. We will continue for around 250 more meters and we will see the Lomos Cambado gallery, we will continue along its paths until we find a fork, we will take the exit on the left, and we will be officially entering the ravine from Añavingo.

At once we will be impacted by the fascinating way in which nature makes its way, green and lush vegetation awaits us that sprouts from every corner and rises to many meters, all this framed in an environment that has been categorized as a Protected Landscape, so you are sure that you will enjoy a unique ecosystem with this hiking route.

We will explore the Añavingo ravine from its depths, we will walk along stepped paths made of perfectly conditioned wooden logs, to have a relaxing and enjoyable day of hiking that you can enjoy. After 20 minutes, we will arrive at a beautiful corner. A rest area that will surprise us with the colossal walls that will surround us and our eyes will be surprised when we see, encased in one of its walls, the altar to San Agustín de las Madres, a saint closely linked to The story of Arafo, whose legend about obtaining water from this region after the eruption of its volcanoes is intriguing.

It is from here that we begin our return, since if we continue we would be entering a section of hiking of greater complexity and greater unevenness, being able to reach the Amance ravine, and our route is framed only by the Añavingo ravine which extends up to 3 kilometers.

This ravine is a place that has the privilege of being a Space of Interest, due to its natural and hydrological character, in additionto contribute to the ethnographic richness of this place, so do not hesitate to enjoy this hiking route through the Añavingo ravine.
