Mulhacén winter ascent from Seville 3 days

Enjoy the winter landscape in a different way by making a 3-day climb to the Mulhacén peak of the Sierra Nevada. From its summit, the highest in the Iberian Peninsula at 3,478 meters high, you will achieve spectacular views of the landscape that surrounds the area. If you look towards the south, you will have the opportunity to contemplate part of the Mediterranean Sea and the African continent; In the north is the Vega de Granada that you can also see.

To carry out this activity, it is not necessary to have prior knowledge about mountaineering, since, in this case, it does not involve much technical difficulty. However, in addition to requiring specific material for the ascent depending on the weather conditions, good physical fitness is required to endure the day on the route without any setbacks arising.

The route we will take will have as its starting point the town of Capileira, which is located in the heart of the Alpujarra of Granada and which we will take advantage of to discover. Then we will take the car to access the Hoya del Portillo where we will park it to walk for 4 hours to the Poqueira Refuge. The next day we will walk along the southern slope of the mountain until we reach the top. Finally, we will return through Loma del Mulhacén to head back to the refuge.

Throughout the entire route you will be accompanied by a professional guide who will guide you, provide you with information about the area and explain some simple techniques on mountain progression. You may decide to change the course of the route to adapt to environmental conditions or the physical condition of the group.

*The material necessary to ascend depending on the conditions: snowshoes, crampons and ice axes, you can rent at the refuge.
**The excursion will begin in Seville, from where we will head to Mulhacén.
