A day of trekking at Alpe Devero

An unmissable proposal for nature and mountain enthusiasts: with Italian Mountains you can take part in this winter trekking (easy level) at Alpe Devero.

From 1 December 2012 we will take you to this pearl nestled among the peaks of the Lepontine Alps, right below the Cervandone (3211 m), Punta della Rossa (2888 m asl) and Pizzo Crampiolo (2776 m asl) massifs.

Alpe Devero is part of the Veglia-Devero Regional Park, and is subject to very careful protection that preserves its pristine beauty. A mountain on a human scale that offers many possibilities for contact with the characteristic Alpine natural manifestations.

From December to April the snow transforms Alpe Devero into fairy-tale magic, an enchanted landscape dotted with small villages cloaked in snow, lakes and frozen waterfalls.
In the months of December, January and February it will also be possible to venture onto the frozen surface of Lake Codelago, in the evocative sensation of being surrounded by the marvelous peaks that enclose it or safely travel along snow-covered paths that are rarely frequented but which delve even deeper into the magic of the place .

The excursion will take place in small groups, it is in fact located far from the streets of mass tourism, only in this way, in fact, will it be possible to truly appreciate the beauty of these scenarios, of the clubs and restaurants mostly housed in warm and welcoming traditional huts, where you can taste the genuine and tasty food typical of the area.

Program:

Departures from Milan, Arona or Orta San Giulio (depending on the customer's needs and the arrival area)
In the case of departures from Milan, the use of the train is expected to reach Arona railway station where pick up for transfer by private car will be carried out.

Planned itinerary:

• Arona station 7.30am – transfer by car (94 km) – Alpe Devero 9.30am
• Walk to Crampiolo (approximately 0:30)
• Alpe Devero 1631 asl – Crampiolo 1767 asl
• Walk to the dam of Lake Codelago 1858 m above sea level and if possible walk on the frozen lake;
• Stop for lunch;
• Free afternoon or optional walk to the beautiful Alpe Sangiatto (about 1 hour walk possibly also with snowshoes rented on site and not included in the price of the excursion)
• Alpe Devero 4.45pm – transfer by car (94 km) – Arona station 6.45pm

The excursion is "personalized" so you will have the possibility to make stops along the route to purchase some typical products of Val Formazza or to extend the duration of the excursion up to a maximum that allows the return by train at 8.50pm to your destinationMilan P.ta Garibaldi.

Essential equipment provided by the participants:
• waterproof trekking shoe (goretex),
