Trekking 3h30 Abruzzo-Molise National Park

The guided trekking excursion that you can undertake with us at Vivace will take you on an evocative journey within the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.

The route takes place between the Molise and Abruzzo territories; in fact, we will start from the square in Valle Fiorita, located at approximately 1418 m above sea level, from which we will undertake our climb up to 1800 meters above sea level, through a dense beech forest. From here we will continue along the Pagan Valley, wedged by the Coste dell'Altare to the west, by Monte Miele to the east and by the magnificent Monte Meta to the north.

Passing the valley we will climb back up to the second point on our itinerary, the Passo dei Monaci, located at around 1967 m above sea level, where it will be a pleasure to stop to enjoy the surprising panorama and for a well-deserved refreshment break.
We will then resume our journey which will cleave the imposing scree at the base of Monte Meta, which will introduce us to the lands of Abruzzo, in the Tartara Valley.
Along the path that runs through the valley we will move until we reach the Biscurri beech forest and finally our destination: Rifugio Campitelli.

This excursion, to be carried out in the summer months, will make glimpses of incredible beauty accessible to you; during the trek it will in fact be possible to admire the upper Altare Valley and Mount Meta, as well as places populated by many animal species, which right in the luxuriance of the Parks have found their own habitat, including the beech forest and high altitude meadows, or mythical scenarios such as ancient moraines and glacial cirques, a legacy of past glaciations.

With a little luck we could follow the tracks, and perhaps even observe some specimens, of the most characteristic and famous fauna of the park: the Marsican brown bear, the Apennine chamois, the wolf and the golden eagle.

It is an undemanding route, of hiking level, but its length makes at least a minimum physical preparation necessary to be able to complete it safely.
