15-Min R22 Helicopter Trial Flight (14+) in Leeds

We've all wondered what it feels like to enjoy a helicopter flight. Now you can have a go with our hover challenge!

In this trial lesson, you'll climb into our Robinson R22 and be a pilot for 15 minutes! You'll have a bespoke instruction from one of our professional pilots and feel the thrills of flight.

You'll find us at Leeds Bradford Airport. The pilot will go through a 5-minute preflight and safety briefing. You'll practise on our helicopter simulator to get familiar with the main controls and the aircraft. Before getting your hands on the real thing! The challenge is to keep the aircraft stable and steady in the air - to hover like a bird of prey.

We welcome people of 14 years of age and above, with a maximum weight of 17 stone. You will receive a certificate of accomplishment once you complete the challenge.

Challenge yourself to fly over the Yorkshire skies with a helicopter trial flight. 

It doesn't matter if you want our this to be your first step into becoming a pilot or just to give it a go, we guarantee there's no better option than enjoying a helicopter flight with us! You'll take the controls of our Robinson R22 Helicopter. It's a two-seated aircraft, meaning you'll have all the attention from your instructor.

Our meeting point is Leeds Bradford Airport. A professional pilot will open your lesson with a safety talk and a 10-15 minutes preflight briefing. We have a helicopter simulator to practice the main controls before departing. We want to boost your confidence before taking off. You'll be flying in the local area, enjoying the best views of Yorkshire from above. 

During your flight, your designated pilot will teach you other techniques, such as climbing, descending, turns and autorotation. You'll enjoy a total of 30 minutes of flying time! You must be older than 14 years and weight less than 17 stone. You'll receive a certificate of accomplishment once you complete this experience.

Have you ever dreamt of piloting a helicopter?

Give it a go, or start your training journey, with a helicopter trial flight. We fly from Leeds Bradford Airport. A friendly and experienced instructor will lead the experience, opening the session with a safety and pre-flight briefing which lasts 10 - 15 minutes. You'll learn how to control the aircraft with our helicopter simulator, then it will be time to depart to put your new skills to the test.

We'll take you on our Robinson R22 aircraft, a two-seated helicopter, meaning you will have the entire session with your designated pilot, who will teach you the basics whilst in the air. You'll fly around the local area for 60 minutes, having plenty of time at the controls of the chopper.  

The minimum age to participate in our trial lessons is 14 years old, and the upper weight lmit is 17 stone. You will receive a certificate of accomplishment once you complete your experience.
