The experience takes place at Harewood House, in the beautiful 1,000 acre estate that surrounds the historic countryside manor. It’s just a short journey from Leeds city centre - the sooner you can swap your boring old car for a modern Segway, the better!

On top of that, the Segway ticket gains you free access to the estate which you can continue to enjoy when your thirty minutes are up. There’s a restaurant and plenty to see.

The restrictions on riding a Segway are height and weight - minimum 134 cm tall and weight between 45 and 117 kg, or 7.1 and 18.4 stone. Children and teens can take part, so long as they are accompanied by an adult. The only other thing to mention is that you’ll need to wear flat, closed-toe shoes.

Ride a Segway in the grounds of Harewood House with us! The most beautiful house and gardens in the Leeds area is the perfect place to experience the exciting, environmentally-friendly transport innovation that is the Segway.

This is a 1-hour midweek session which starts with some training, led by an expert instructor, includes games, challenges and a Follow My Leader tour, and ends with some free exploration time. You’ll be a Segway pro by the end of it!

There is no minimum age to ride a Segway but participants must measure over 134 cm tall and weigh between 45 and 117 kg (7.1 and 18.4 stone). Under 18s will also need to be accompanied by an adult to sign a waiver on their behalf. Everyone must wear closed-toe shoes with flat soles.

Once you’ve finished your futuristic ride, you can continue to explore Harewood House and gardens or enjoy some refreshments in the restaurant.

Make the most of it by exploring Harewood House and park on a futuristic Segway! The mansion is set in 1,000 acres of parkland and there’s so much to explore. You’ll be impressed at how the Segway handles on paths, tracks and even off-road.

This is a 1-hour session. You’ll have a Segway guide who’ll start things off with basic training, get everyone playing games, lead a Follow My Leader tour and then give you the chance to continue exploring at your own pace while you find out what the vehicles are capable of. After the session, you can stay on the estate and take advantage of the restaurant and facilities. 

You need to wear the right footwear: a pair of trainers is best, while high heels or sandals are not suitable. Anyone can ride a Segway but anyone under 18 years of age needs to be accompanied by an adult.
