Get ready to live a day of adventure with us. We will begin our tour at the Ek Balam Mayan Ruins located in the middle of the jungle, a cultural excursion that will allow you to get to know the ancient Mayan culture in depth. Ek Balam means "Jaguar Star" or "Black Jaguar" and many of its well-preserved ruins have been located. Today we can see facades, murals and glyphic texts in very good condition.
Ek Balam is a walled enclosure where we can contemplate the beauty of its temples, squares, palaces, alters, a steam bath, steles and shrines. Without a doubt, one of the best archaeological sites you can visit. We will also be able to hear an explanation about melipona honey, created by Mayan bees and which are highly valued by locals.
Afterwards we will go to one of the most beautiful cenotes in the area, here we can cool off and admire the impressive stalactites that are reflected in its crystalline waters and before going to our point At the end of the tour, we will stop in a Mayan town called Nuevo Durango to have a homemade lunch at the house of our friend Chucho who will receive us along with his family.
Finally, we will visit some dry caves, to get to them we will need to take a tour of approximately 2 km through the jungle on a mountain bike. When you reach the caves you can admire cave paintings, vessels, prehistoric walls as well as rooms with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. A place that is very worth exploring.
We want you to enjoy this experience to the fullest and to get to know as much as possible about the Riviera Maya region, that is why it will be a long day but full of fun, adventure and discover new and different places.
