Built at the end of the 19th century in Sintra, Quinta da Regaleira was designed by the Italian architect and set designer Luigi Manini, who created all kinds of eccentricities in his gardens, combining Gothic, Romanesque and Manueline styles. The result? A magical environment that seems to come out of a story, full of secrets and symbolism.
One of the farm's biggest attractions is the Initiatory Well, the protagonist of thousands of photographs and which was designed for rituals and spiritual experiences. It is 27 meters deep and has a spiral staircase with 9 circular levels. At the bottom, you will find a compass rose on a Templar cross.
