Caving to the Coventosa cave in Arredondo 8 hours

Get ready because we have prepared a unique caving route for you, as we will venture to conquer what many consider to be the star cave of the Cantabrian region. We are talking about discovering the Coventosa cave with a tour of approximately 8 hours and we will start from the town of Arredondo. It will be a route of just 3 kilometers, but it will be extensive due to its long and narrow corridors.

For this caving route to Coventosa you will only need wellies, sports clothing, a towel and a change of clothes. Disconnect and forget about anything else because with us it will be unnecessary, since we will provide all the necessary materials and an expert guide who knows every curve and nook of this immense cave in detail.

Our caving route in Coventosa begins by passing through a fairly tight bend. As soon as we pass it we continue descending along a path full of loose stones, so we will have to be careful. We continue along a path to our left that will lead us to a gigantic well 15 meters deep through which we will rappel down. It will be very exciting to bridge this immense abyss underground until you reach the second floor of Coventosa.

Once perched on the floor of the cave, we head east and find a void 65 meters deep. We will avoid it by climbing down from a protruding wash and we will then enter the room of the Columns. We will be so stunned enjoying the underground environment that it will be impossible to move, so we will take the opportunity to rest and admire what surrounds us.

From here we will have to climb a little to overcome a small wall which gives us access to the Ghost Room, one of the most emblematic galleries in Coventosa for its unique rock formations. We continue down this area going down a ramp secured with a rope and eventually we come across the Lapiceros room, another room with spectacular formations.

We will skirt the Lapiceros until we reach the final room, a beautiful corner where we can enjoy an enveloping silence and an overwhelming darkness. We will then be contemplating the room that precedes the last one itself, because to finish we arrive at the Mirror Room, where there are some small pools in which the water reflects everything in its path perfectly.
