The journey will begin at our base in Tresseck Campsite, where you will be kitted up with a canoe, paddle and buoyancy aid, all part of the hire. You will travel for around 3 to 5 hours downstream for approximately 11.5 miles of picturesque waters and past scenic countryside landmarks along River Wye.

First, you will head under the Victorian Bridge of Sellak, then onto Strangford and the Court Gardens of How Caple. Before, you will encounter fishing enthusiasts from near and far trying their luck at the popular salmon pools through Inglestone Estate.

The journey will feature many peaceful flats so you can sit back and chill, but you will also take on the rapids by the Hole-in-the-Wall hamlet and another beautiful bridge taking you past Foy.

Picture the scene, glorious birds flying overhead and calm waters beneath you; if luck is on your side, this will be the scene as you head towards what remains of Backney Bridge and onto the beautiful town of Ross-on-Wye, where this adventure will come to an end.

Only children and youth between 4 and 17 can take advantage of this price, whereas adults must choose the price option for 18 and over, but this means that the hire is open to anyone seeking a relaxing canoe trip so all the family can come together to work in unison and bond on a scenic journey.

Our three-quarter day canoe hire can last around 3 to 5 hours, so you have plenty of time to relax while leisurely paddling down one of the most picturesque sections of the stunning River Wye from our base at Tresseck Campsite in Hoarwithy to Ross.

This extended trip stretches around 11.5 miles, with lots of adventure in store and attractions aplenty. We will head downstream, passing the likes of Sellack and the old railway bridge at Strangford, heading towards the beautiful Court Gardens at How Caple and the famous fishing pools through Inglestone Estate.

With rapids to take on and bridges to pass under, you will soon be paddling past the Hole-in-the-Wall with birds and other wildlife to enjoy. On the way, you will be in awe of the gorgeous surroundings that create such a peaceful atmosphere, making the stress-releasing activity of canoeing even more freeing.

Once you reach the ruins of Backney Bridge, you will get to the home straight of the trip with Ross-on-Wye soon on the horizon, signalling the end of an exciting adventure.
