Half-day bike hire on Arranmore (12yrs+)

We offer bikes for hire on one of the most beautiful islands in Ireland, Arranmore. Set adrift off the coast of County Donegal, Arranmore is wild and rugged yet home to almost 500 people.

If you take a half-day bike ride around Arranmore, you might get some idea of why people choose to live on this remote island. There’s the intricate coastline, panoramic views and bird and animal populations to discover.

Our bikes are high-quality and kept in good working order. There are paved, single-track roads on the island that form one loop in the south and another in the north. Four hours is enough time to cycle comfortably around one of these. The roads aren’t busy but please be aware of cars!

Our bike rental is available to anyone over the age of twelve but under eighteens must be part of a group with adults. We have a fleet of 17 bikes.

Have you ever dreamed of completing a coast-to-coast bike ride?

It’s more achievable than you might think here on Arranmore. This island is off the coast of County Donegal, where the waves and weather of the Atlantic Ocean create spectacular land and seascapes.

Arranmore has an area of roughly 22 square kilometres. We offer full-day bike rental, which gives you the chance to see the whole island from the saddle. There are expansive views over the island and mainland, quaint settlements and wildlife.

The roads on Arranmore are paved. They form two loops, one on the south and the other on the north of the island, and there’s a road that extends to the lighthouse at the northwesternmost point. In eight hours, you can cycle most of this network. Always keep your eyes open for cars.

Bike rental is suitable for adults and children over twelve, though under eighteens must be booked as part of a group with adults. We have 17 bikes in total and we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment!
