Archery Experience at Ullswater, 1h

Try your hand at an ancient activity in a pristine environment.

It’s an archery session in the Lake District National Park. As a have-a-go session, this experience is aimed at newcomers, of at least 6 years old, to the sport who want to find out about the magic and mystery of firing arrows from a bow.

In the course of 1 hour, you’ll go from absolute beginner to budding archer. Our instructors will make sure of that, beginning with a talk that covers safety and an introduction to the equipment.

As you and the group progress, finding your aim and getting closer to the bullseye, the instructor can mix things up a bit with some games, challenges and friendly competition. It’s the only way to get the best out of people!

Our archery range is on the shores of Ullswater - an inspiring location and one of the postcard images of Cumbria.

Do you want to become a bowmaster?

Perhaps you’re already an outdoor activity leader and you want to widen your portfolio, or maybe you just love archery and want to pass on your skills to others. This instructor course, from Archery GB, could be just the thing for you.

This three day course involves 5 hours of training on each day. You will cover everything from safety to coaching and archery games. At the end of the programme, there will be an assessment. If you pass, you’ll be presented with a certificate!

You don’t need to be an expert archer already in order to take this course. The focus is on introducing newcomers to the sport in a safe and effective way, not hitting the bullseye every time!

We put these courses on at Grinton Lodge near Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales. The shooting takes place on an outdoor range in the open landscape. Accommodation is available on site, please contact us if you’d like to know more about staying here while completing the course.
