La Manreana

At La Manreana we have chosen to take one more step in the dissemination of fauna and for this reason we have concentrated our efforts on the opening of a new Nature and Fauna Center, which we inaugurated in the month of May 2016 with the name Vimferri.

With the culmination of our work, and that of a multitude of collaborators who believed in our project, today we have a space where visitors have the opportunity to:

- Get closer to native species that you had not noticed before: many times we go to a zoo focused on searching for the animals that we see in documentaries from other places in the world. However, the peninsular fauna is rich and consists of species that we have to conserve. This is the case of the fox, different types of birds and especially raptors that play a priority role in the development of the surrounding fauna.

- Have access to animals that do not live naturally in our ecosystem: like ostriches, beautiful and gigantic birds that capture all the curiosity of those who come to meet us.

- Learn what we can do to conserve the planet: La Manreana experts explain the characteristics of each animal and how human actions influence their survival.

Every new summer awaits us, in the Les Garrigues area, what was once a farmhouse intended to provide shelter for its inhabitants during their life in the countryside. Now, La Manreana welcomes us to be part of its English Camps in facilities that have been adapted over time so that students have at their disposal everything they need for a unique and educational vacation.

Our summer camp is planned as a linguistic immersion, which means that participants will be in direct and continuous contact with the Anglo-Saxon language. This is achieved through the integration of bilingual and native staff in our team of monitors. At the same time, they will ensure that all activities organized use this language as the only vehicle of communication.

The advantages of the camp in La Manreana are clear:

- We make it easy for you to choose dates since we usually plan several shifts, normally from the end of June until August.

- The shifts will also be closely related to the ages of boys and girls, since it is important to group them by their abilities and level of English, depending on whether they are still small children or almost teenagers.

- Nature, animals and the development of farm tasks help them evolve as people and become aware of the importance of taking care of the world in which they have to grow up.

The summer camps in La Manreana are immersed in the tasks of the countryside to bring to children a way of life that most of them feel is very far away.

We focus this type of stay in the month of August, placing the shifts in a first 2-week program for ages between 9 and 15 years old, and a second coexistence that is limited to 7 days so that it is more suitable for children between 5 and 8 years old.

- What are the facilities that will serve as accommodation?: They are made up of two colony houses that we usually use simultaneously to house a single group. In addition to the corrals and orchards typical of a farm, we have large sports areas and large classrooms in which workshops and activities take place.

- What will our children do during the camp?: our nature as a farm school has a direct impact on the activities. Thus, children have the opportunity to collaborate by taking care of the animals, the garden or learning how to use a bread oven. However, this does not mean we give up excursions, games and sports that usually have a place in the usual neighborhoods.

- What should we take into account to avoid running out of places?: We usually receive registrations from February to June. Don't forget that sibling registration is cheaper.
