Bungee Jumping Edinburgh 4 prices and offers 2026

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland, a land of myths, legends and adventure. From the Loch Ness Monster to noble stags, from the history of clans and rebellions to the connection with the magical stories of Harry Potter, and from the Highland Games to the Fringe Festival, this country has built a reputation as one of the most impressive destinations in Europe. It’s no surprise that huge numbers of tourists visit Scotland every year from the rest of the UK and abroad, while the Scots themselves are keen explorers of their own land. Visiting it is a must on any tour of Scotland. With its history and castles, its modern and cultural attractions and its unique architecture, it’s a wonderful place to spend a day - or much longer - living the civilised life. But in this area, adventure is never far away. What if we were to tell you that you don’t have to travel far from the Scottish capital to experience a thrill that will come to define your time in the country - a bungee jump?

Where to do bungee jumping in the city of Edinburgh?

Travelling north from Edinburgh, you cross the famous Forth Bridge and approach the Highlands, Scotland’s rugged and mountainous landscape. You’ll follow the paths of rivers that tumble down from high altitude lochs towards the sea, leaving behind the modern comforts of the city and immersing yourself in a world where it’s the forces of nature that call the shots. At the village of Killiecrankie, the River Garry has carved a gorge into the foothills of the Grampian Mountains. An old railway viaduct crosses the river at an altitude of 40 metres. This is the setting for the aerial adventure you’ve been dreaming of. The viaduct has been adapted to play host to a range of bungee jumping possibilities, each more daring than the last. They’re all fast, frenetic and phenomenal - and did we mention that they’re safe and great value for money too?

Kinds of jumps available

• The Highland Swing: The first offering is an experience that doesn’t involve the sheer lunacy of a classic bungee jump, but allows the whole family to take a ride through the air below the Killiecrankie viaduct. If you choose this option, the expert team will strap you into a full body harness and attach you to a cable, then drop you from one side of the viaduct. You’ll rapidly descend about 15 metres, before swinging under the arches and out the other side, where the highland scenery opens up in front of you.

• Tandem jump: The next level up is a tandem. This is the real thing - free falling from the viaduct towards the River Garry - but you don’t have to face it alone. Instead, you’ll be accompanied by a person of your choice. Whether it’s your best friend, your worst enemy, or anyone in between, they’ll be put in a harness that’s connected to yours and to the same cord as you. This option is perfect for those who are worried about chickening out at the last minute, because you don’t want to look like a coward in front of your jump partner. Once you’ve completed the jump, you’ll always have someone who’s got your back if anyone accuses you of cowardice.

• Individual jump: The main event is the classic individual jump, in which a lone daredevil faces off against gravity, armed only with a rope. You have to have nerves of steel to stand on the viaduct, 40 metres above the bubbling waters of the River Garry, and jump off. Once you’ve made the decision, there’s no looking back. You’ll drop like a stone towards the water until, at what feels like the last minute, the bungee starts to stretch and slows your fall. After a couple of bounces in midair, the jump team will winch you back to the platform where you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Options to enhance your experience

The actual process, from leaving the jump platform to getting your feet back on the ground, only lasts a few moments. So if you’re travelling from Edinburgh to Killiecrankie, it makes sense to get the most out of the experience as you can, and there are two ways to do that. The first is by booking a multi-jump package, where you’ll have the chance to experience the adrenaline rush all over again after your first jump. The second is by arranging for your jump to be caught on camera. The activity provider team can set up various cameras to capture film and images of your daring stunt from multiple angels, then edit the footage together to make a personalised souvenir for you that you can enjoy for the rest of your life.

But if you want to do something truly unique with your time, you should turn your trip into an overnight expedition and take part in the only night time bungee jump in the UK. The sounds of the highlands are even clearer at night - the noise of the river, the calling of birds, and the shouts of the jumpers? Only here can you brave this extreme challenge.

Requirements to do this activity

The Highland Swing doesn’t expose the body to as intense g-forces as a bungee jump, so this activity is more accessible. If you’re in this area with the kids you can bring them along to have this fantastic experience, as long as they’re at least 10 years old and weigh between 6.2 and 18.9 stone, or 40 and 120 kilograms.

A full on bungee jump requires the informed consent of participants, meaning that you have to be over 14 years old to sign up - and don’t leave the city without your parents’ permission if you’re under 16 years of age! There’s a maximum weight of 22.8 stone, or 145 kilograms.

So what are you waiting for? Make your visit complete with this incredible experience!
