The first thing you should know is that writing these lines has cost us, and it has cost us a lot. When you're talking about an island that is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, it's no surprise that every corner is more paradisiacal than the last. The entire coastline has idyllic beaches we all dream of, so finding THE place to have your boat trip in Menorca can be a bit tricky. That's why here are the best places to sail around Menorca, bits and pieces of the island where a boat trip is a spectacle for the senses.

Where to go on a boat trip in Minorca?

- A boat trip in Fornells: Fornells is a coastal town located on the northern tip of the island that is nestled in an enclosed bay. The boat trips around Fornells, as you would expect, start from its port and from the very beginning you will be left speechless. When you depart from the port, you will see crystal clear waters and islands everywhere. A boat trip in Fornells is unmissable because of its magical and peaceful setting and what's more, you can take a boat trip to Cala Pregonda from here. The beach here is a striking contrast to the typical beaches of Menorca. The same sea awaits you; clear, calm and turquoise, but with a coastline of fine golden sand. In addition, we have to highlight its surroundings. You won't see a single soul amidst its coastline full of cliffs and small islands. Its beauty will make anyone fall in love with it.

- A boat trip around Cala Macarella: In short, Cala Macarella is synonymous with total privacy. It is at the south of Ciudadela and on the west side of the island. Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta are a true reflection of what a haven of peace is all about. It is not easy to access; it is not very frequented and is, therefore, a special place to get away from the chaos. In this corner of Minorca, it seems that all the essence of the Mediterranean exists in this spot. A few beaches sheltered in their bays, embraced by colossal canyons of white rock, backed by wild green vegetation, and once again with the symbol of the Balearic waters, turquoise reflections in crystal clear waters await you.

- A boat trip around Cala Pilar: A place you have to visit if you are looking for something exotic and different. Here you can also expect the characteristic Menorcan sea that is serene, translucent and with tones of turquoise... Typical of this island. However, what is most striking about this part of the island are the surroundings. Cala Pilar is immersed in the Marine Reserve of the North of Menorca. So both the corner we are talking about and the route will be a delight for the eyes. Even so, no matter how many spectacular sights you see along the way, you will be completely speechless when you finally arrive at Cala Pilar. A coastline of reddish and ochre tones awaits you, a strong contrast that suddenly merges with this turquoise and the azure Mediterranean.

- A boat trip around Son Saura. Here, you can enjoy complete privacy and be far away from people. You will witness nothing but nature all around. And no wonder, because we are talking about the longest unspoilt beach in Ciudadela. The arms that make up the inlet of these hidden beaches are completely populated by lush pine forests. When you see from afar, it will seem like a concentrated spot of greenery merging with a turquoise sea as flat as a plate. You won't be able to assimilate so much beauty together.

- A boat trip to Cala Tortuga: Cala Tortuga sounds like the kind of paradise beach you see in Pirates of the Caribbean and, frankly, that's what it's all about. A boat trip around Cala Tortuga is one of our favourite trips as it involves sailing from one end to the other around the Natural Park of S'Albufera des Grau, a protected natural area in the east of the island. The Mediterranean seems to reach the coast differently, leaving before us a sea so flat that it seems to be drawn. You will also see crystal clear waters and turquoise tones, but what we love here is its high degree of conservation and protection and its surroundings. The small hills and plains populated with vegetation from the high seas take on a different look.
