In the complex world of air sports, one could say that skydiving is among the most extreme. Since jumping from a plane in flight isn't something we do every day, skydiving will offer you unique sensations like no other. That's why it's the perfect activity to gift to a loved one or yourself if you feel the need to break free from everyday stress, or if you crave extreme sensations for any reason!

First and foremost, if you're considering trying freefall for the first time, don't forget the most important thing: find an experienced professional who will guide you at the crucial moment! Believe us, you'll need it! On Yumping.co.uk, we offer a wide selection of skydiving companies near you, ready to take you to the most beautiful drop zones in your region.

Now, discover the equipment that will be provided on your first skydive! And if passion for air sports takes hold, you'll want to get your own gear.

Here's the list - not overly complicated - summarising skydiving equipment:
  • Parachute, harness and container: Obviously. You'll be equipped with two parachutes: a main canopy and a reserve canopy serving as a backup parachute.

  • Automatic Activation Device: Also called AAD, it automatically deploys the parachute at about 230 metres if something goes wrong. Known as a safety trigger, it's mandatory in the UK.

  • Harness: The harness allows for comfortable and secure practice, attached to your container.

  • Altimeter: The altimeter is one of the first things you'll buy if you decide to pursue solo skydiving. For your first jump during a tandem freefall, your instructor will wear it to monitor the correct altitude for parachute deployment. An absolutely essential item!

  • Goggles: Goggles are inexpensive and will therefore be among the first items you purchase if you take up regular skydiving. They'll help keep your eyes open during freefall.

  • Helmet: A helmet isn't essential at advanced levels, but it's never excessive! Never neglect protection when practising extreme sports.

  • Jumpsuit and gloves: The jumpsuit isn't essential either, but becomes much more comfortable if you enjoyed your first skydive and decide to jump more often. Gloves will protect you from the cold.
The skydiver's equipment is primarily safety-focused, then comfort-oriented. This allows everyone to experience skydiving worry-free and fully enjoy the adrenaline rush when leaping from a plane in flight.

 free fall

Much like James Bond, you'll experience a dizzying 50-second freefall at 200km/h through the sky, before gently gliding under the canopy with your instructor.

Tandem skydiving is available from age 14, so don't hesitate to embark on this aerial adventure!
