Nowadays, many of us spend a significant amount of time at work with our colleagues, with whom—whether we like it or not—we must maintain a good relationship. Since daily routines can create tensions or focus too much on individual tasks, we rarely get to know those around us in depth.
To address minor conflicts that may arise in the workplace and foster a better working environment, team building was created. Team building is simply a company-organised gathering where colleagues take part in an activity together.
Laser Tag
One option that appeals to most groups is laser tag, as it requires no special physical condition or prior experience. All you need is a willingness to have fun and go with the flow.
To play, you’ll split into two teams and "battle" against each other to see who achieves the objective first. Before the laser combat session begins, an instructor will explain how to use the equipment provided by the venue—both the vest and the laser tag gun. It can be played outdoors or indoors.
The activity itself is straightforward but incredibly fun, allowing you to develop team strategies. Remember, it’s your group against another, so you’ll need a plan to achieve the objective: capture the flag, S.W.A.T., or whichever game mode you choose.
An Evolution of Paintball?
Some consider it an evolution of paintball, as there’s no direct impact: pulling the trigger fires a laser that registers on the opponent’s vest, which vibrates to signal they’ve been eliminated. Depending on the rules, they’ll either sit out for a set time, need rescuing, or wait until the round ends.
Hiding in the arena is crucial to avoid detection, but you’ll also need a solid attack plan to hit your target. The more opponents you eliminate, the better your team’s chances of winning. A few rules ensure everything runs smoothly. Each venue has its own, but generally, these apply:
- No smoking
- Do not leave safe zones
- Wear comfortable footwear for unrestricted movement
- Absolute respect among all participants
- Take care of the borrowed equipment
One of the most recommended activities for all types of people. You’re guaranteed to have fun and build stronger bonds, which will reflect positively on your daily work environment.
