Have you heard of Madrid Beach? Located in Spain's capital, it's one of the most impressive spots in the city. Many people visit during the summer months, whether locals or tourists, as it's ideal for cooling off. Various events take place throughout the year, particularly in summer, making it a unique setting to welcome any of the water sports present in our lives.

And so it was last weekend when Madrid briefly became Tarifa: barbecues, live music, a perfect sunset with the sea in the background... Without a doubt, the essence of Cádiz was present during that summer night. The sports complex was decorated down to the smallest detail, complete with a giant screen broadcasting Tarifa's sunset live.

The presenter Christian Gálvez

Christian Gálvez hosted the event and declared himself a fan of adventure sports, though he admitted he'd never tried kitesurfing, the evening's star sport—though he did express interest in attempting some tricks. He was joined by Carolina Castillo, Marketing Director of Diageo Whiskies, who noted that J&B has always supported trending sports, first with beach volleyball and now with kitesurfing.

Kitesurfing, characterised as a fresh, dynamic sport full of energy and passion, fits perfectly not only with the event's location but also with J&B's spirit—"young, bold, and innovative," in Carolina Castillo's words. Undoubtedly, the perfect combination of sport and brand.

One of the night's highlights featured kitesurfer Álvaro Onieva, one of the sport's leading figures both nationally and internationally. He delivered spectacular imagery as he surfed and flew over the waters of Madrid Beach Sports Complex's pools with his kite gear.

The Scottish brand and the tour it's sponsoring this summer, the "J&B Masters of Kite," will have the honour of hosting the world's best kitesurfers, including—unsurprisingly—Álvaro Onieva himself and Álex Pastor, another rising star in Spanish kitesurfing. Both will compete in a championship bringing together the world's top twelve kitesurfers, enjoying two of Spain's finest locations: the Bay of Roses (Girona) and Tarifa (Cádiz).

The reason these provinces were chosen is that they meet all the necessary conditions for an excellent day of kitesurfing: wind and sea. In fact, these spots are classified as "High-Performance Centres" for kitesurfing, meaning the skill level of the kiters is exceptionally high.

Don’t miss out on this healthy, sporty, and surf-filled summer brought to you by J&B, with parties in Catalonia, Madrid, and Andalusia, where giveaways and kitesurfing courses, along with plenty of other activities, will be on offer.
