Do you know the feeling of flying just above the sea? Would you like to experience it? One of the water sports that can make this happen is kitesurfing, why? For the simple reason that it's the wind that carries you, and if you let it... you can fly!

Let's assume you've recently taken a kitesurfing course, maybe last summer? And this year you're planning to practice again and, why not? Improve your skills. If you've already tried it, the temptation to get back on a kiteboard will be irresistible.

Kitesurfing maneuvers

Learning kitesurfing might take you some time. Not too much, as handling the equipment is quick, but you need to consider wind and tide conditions and learn to understand and interpret them. But what happens when you've got the "basics" under control? It's time to start experimenting, don't you think? Let's experiment.

How to jump in kitesurfing

There are several steps you need to keep in mind (remember that jumping isn't the hardest part - the important thing is knowing how to land):

1. Take-off

How? As "simple" as pulling the bar with the kite high and planting the board in the water. If you do it with enough force, the kite will give in and lift you, propelling you upwards. To complete it, you just need to push with your legs.

2. Fly

Use your body to balance your weight with the kite's. The essential thing is to lift the board forward using your legs and manoeuvre the kite with the board. Just before descending, you need to bring the kite forward to gain traction.

3. Land

The most important thing is not to plunge into the water, but rather to let yourself fall - how? Always with the kite's assistance. If you handle it well, you can land with the tail up and the result will be perfect.

 Learn an unmatched sport

Don't forget to follow the usual advice, including keeping an eye on the kite at all times (if you watch it constantly, you'll understand its behaviour much better), making sure you only jump when you feel ready, avoiding shallow waters to prevent potential injuries, and if you want extra security, you can start by strapping your feet to the board.

Once you've mastered jumps, all that's left is to start working on turns and other manoeuvres. Don't waste time - you've got plenty to learn!
